ℹ️ About Phone Number Validator
Phone Number Validator validates, formats, and analyzes international phone numbers according to ITU-T E.164 standards. It detects country codes, formats numbers in multiple styles, and provides detailed analysis about number types and carrier information.
The international public-numbering format is defined by
ITU-T E.164. Telephone links in
web pages use the tel: URI format from
RFC 3966. This validator checks
numbering-plan structure and formatting; it does not prove that a line is active, assigned, reachable by SMS, or
owned by a specific person.
Common Use Cases:
- Form validation and user input sanitization
- International calling system integration
- Customer data cleanup and standardization
- Fraud detection and number verification
- CRM and contact management systems
- SMS marketing and communication platforms
Supported Formats:
- E.164: International standard format (+12345678901)
- International: Human-readable international format
- National: Local country format
- RFC 3966: URI format for tel: links
Analysis Features: Country Detection: Automatic country code identification, Number Type: Mobile, landline, toll-free, premium rate classification, Carrier Info: Network type and porting information where available
Limitations: mobile number portability, VoIP providers, short codes, extensions, and local dialing rules can make real-world reachability differ from syntax validation. Treat phone validation as an input-quality check, not identity verification or fraud proof.
