ℹ️ About Duplicate Word Remover
Duplicate Word Remover turns pasted text into a unique word list for keyword cleanup, tag lists, vocabulary work, prompt terms, and quick text preprocessing. It removes repeated word tokens while keeping the first displayed occurrence, or it can sort the unique words alphabetically.
The tool splits input on whitespace, compares each token, and removes later matches. By default, matching is
case-insensitive, so Apple, apple, and APPLE count as the same word. Enable
case-sensitive comparison when capitalization should create separate entries.
Example: apple banana apple cherry banana becomes apple banana cherry.
With punctuation removal enabled, hello, hello! becomes hello, because punctuation is
ignored for matching but the first original token is preserved in the output.
Good uses:
- Deduplicating SEO keyword lists before import
- Cleaning repeated tags, labels, and metadata fields
- Building a compact vocabulary list from notes or source text
- Preparing word lists for frequency checks, sorting, or diffing
- Finding the most repeated terms in the duplicate analysis panel
Options:
- Preserve order: keep the first occurrence of each unique word token.
- Sort results: alphabetize the deduplicated list after comparison.
- Case sensitivity: choose whether
Wordandwordmatch. - Punctuation handling: ignore punctuation for comparison while preserving the first display form.
- Output format: return words separated by spaces, one per line, or comma-separated.
Limitations: this is a deterministic text-cleanup tool, not a full natural-language tokenizer. It treats whitespace as the token boundary and uses JavaScript regular-expression character classes for punctuation cleanup, so contractions, hyphenated terms, emoji, and languages that do not separate words with spaces may need manual review.
For language-aware word-boundary behavior, see Unicode Standard Annex #29. For the regular-expression character classes behind whitespace and word-character matching, see the ECMAScript specification.
Privacy: the interactive cleanup runs in your browser. Use the API example only when you intentionally want to send text to the server-side endpoint.
