ℹ️ About QR Code Generator

QR Code (Quick Response Code) is a two-dimensional matrix symbol defined by ISO/IEC 18004. It stores data in black and white modules so camera apps, barcode scanners, and mobile devices can open a URL, join a WiFi network, import a contact, start an SMS, or read plain text without manual typing.

This QR code generator creates common payloads for websites, WiFi guest access, contact cards, SMS links, email drafts, and short instructions. For example, a website QR usually contains an HTTPS URL, a contact QR can contain a vCard, an email QR can use the mailto URI scheme, and a phone or SMS QR may use tel URIs or SMS URIs.

  • URL QR codes: share landing pages, app download links, documentation, login portals, or ticket check-in pages.
  • WiFi QR codes: encode SSID, security type, and password for guest networks without printing credentials separately.
  • Contact QR codes: package a name, phone number, email address, and organization for address-book import.
  • Message QR codes: prefill SMS or email destinations for support desks, event teams, or field workflows.
  • Text QR codes: store short labels, setup instructions, asset IDs, coupon codes, or offline notes.

QR symbols use selectable error correction levels. Level L recovers about 7% damage, M about 15%, Q about 25%, and H about 30%. Higher correction is useful for printed labels, outdoor signs, or light logo overlays, but it also increases symbol density. Maximum capacity depends on the mode and QR version: version 40-L can hold up to 7,089 numeric characters, 4,296 alphanumeric characters, 2,953 bytes, or 1,817 Kanji characters.

  • Keep payloads short for faster scanning; long text, WiFi passwords, and vCards create smaller modules that need more print resolution.
  • Use strong contrast, a quiet zone around the symbol, and enough physical size for the expected scan distance.
  • Test the exported PNG or SVG on the same phones, lighting, and print material your audience will use.
  • A QR code is not encrypted by default: anyone who can scan it can read embedded WiFi passwords, contact data, or tracking URLs.
  • Camera apps handle edge cases differently, especially non-ASCII text, hidden SSIDs, unusual WiFi authentication, and very long URI query strings.

QR Code was created by DENSO WAVE, which publishes background information about versions and capacity and error correction. Treat shortened or unexpected QR URLs with the same caution as unknown links, and avoid placing sensitive secrets in public codes.
