ℹ️ About Text Case Converter

Text Case Converter rewrites plain text into common letter case and identifier naming conventions. It is useful when the same words need to move between prose, source code, URLs, file names, database columns, API fields, and configuration keys without retyping each variant by hand.

Programming use cases:

  • Convert labels or copied prose into camelCase JavaScript properties.
  • Generate PascalCase class, component, enum, or type names.
  • Normalize constants and environment keys as SCREAMING_SNAKE_CASE.
  • Prepare route slugs, CSS custom names, and file names as kebab-case.
  • Convert field names for SQL columns, JSON payloads, logs, or command paths.

Content and editorial use cases:

  • Clean inconsistent capitalization before publishing documentation, release notes, or tickets.
  • Turn pasted headings into UPPERCASE, lowercase, Title Case, or sentence-style text.
  • Create consistent labels for spreadsheets, CSV headers, and bulk text cleanup jobs.
  • Compare multiple possible casing styles before choosing a final name.

Case mode details:

  • UPPER and lower use JavaScript string case conversion, based on the ECMAScript toUpperCase() and toLowerCase() methods.
  • Title lowercases the input, then uppercases letters that start after whitespace. Sentence lowercases the whole string and capitalizes only the first character.
  • camelCase and PascalCase split ASCII letters and digits on non-alphanumeric separators, lowercase the words, and remove the separators.
  • snake_case, SCREAMING_SNAKE_CASE, kebab-case, SCREAMING-KEBAB-CASE, dot.case, and path/case use the same word splitting, then rejoin words with the selected separator.
  • Capitalize uppercases the first word character of each word-like segment while preserving existing spacing. aLtErNaTiNg toggles A-Z letters only. Reverse reverses Unicode code points.

Examples:

  • API response.v2/final becomes apiResponseV2Final, api_response_v2_final, or api-response-v2-final.
  • mIXed caSe words becomes Mixed Case Words in Title mode and Mixed case words in Sentence mode.
  • Hello World becomes HELLO WORLD, hello world, HelloWorld, or hello/world depending on the selected mode.

Unicode and localization limits: Unicode casing is not always a reversible one-to-one character swap. The Unicode Standard's Default Case Algorithms and case mapping FAQ describe one-to-many mappings, titlecase behavior, and language-specific tailorings such as Turkish dotted and dotless I. This tool does not provide a locale selector, and identifier modes use ASCII word extraction, so accented letters, combining marks, emoji, and non-Latin scripts may not be preserved in camel, snake, kebab, dot, or path outputs. Review localized names, legal names, and human-facing titles manually.

Privacy note: Interactive conversions run in your browser and do not require uploading the text you type into the page. If you use the public API endpoint, the request body is sent to the server for processing under the normal API rate-limit and logging controls, so avoid submitting secrets unless that is acceptable for your workflow.

API Usage Example:

POST /api/tools/text/case-converter
Content-Type: application/json

{
    "text": "hello world example",
    "caseType": "camelCase"
}
