ℹ️ About Text Obfuscator

Text Obfuscator transforms text with character substitution and ordering techniques such as leet speak, Unicode lookalikes, homoglyph swaps, reversal, and randomized replacement. It is useful for styling, demonstrations, and low-stakes masking, but it is not encryption and should not be used to protect secrets.

Obfuscation methods:

  • Leet speak: Classic 1337 sp34k replacements such as a to 4, e to 3, and o to 0.
  • Unicode substitution: Replace characters with similar-looking symbols or mathematical letters.
  • Homoglyphs: Swap Latin characters with visually similar characters from other scripts.
  • Reverse: Reverse entire text or individual words while preserving surrounding structure.
  • Random: Randomly replace characters based on the selected intensity.

Intensity levels:

  • Light: Minimal changes with basic replacements only.
  • Medium: Moderate obfuscation with a broader character set.
  • Heavy: Maximum visual change using complex Unicode and special characters.

Unicode security context: The Unicode Consortium documents confusable characters and spoofing risks in Unicode Technical Standard #39, with machine-readable confusable mappings published in the Unicode security data files. Use this tool to understand those effects, not to impersonate trusted domains, names, or identifiers.

Limitations: Obfuscated text can harm accessibility, search, copy/paste reliability, and moderation clarity. It may also be normalized or stripped by downstream systems.
